Hi! I’m Delisha.
Lover of burritos, travel, puppies, new people + experiences, and living an intentional life (in no particular order, but burritos are #1)
I'm a Food Freedom and Body Image Coach, and founder of Well Intentions Health. As a coach, my mission is to help women heal their food and body image issues + connect with their inner worth, so that they can spend more time living a fulfilled life with peace, freedom and confidence WITH their bodies.
I believe that we are all SO much more than our diets, our workouts, or a number on the scale. Society has wired out brains to chase thinness rather than purpose, which has created a culture of dieting, restriction, body shame, stress and guilt.
I've lived this and have recovered from it, and I’m here to tell you that it doesn't have to be this way. Together, let’s break up with diet culture and create real mindset & lifestyle changes that support genuine health, food freedom, body peace and acceptance.
I can’t wait to support you on this journey. Sending you all the love and well intentions!
-Delisha
Why Well Intentions?
Long story (kind of) short. I LOVE food! Growing up, food was always the centerpiece of every gathering. It represented family, friends, love, comfort, connection, LIFE!
But as I entered adulthood, I experienced what many people struggle with - pressure to be thin and comparing myself to unrealistic beauty and body standards. What started as cutting calories here and there evolved into strict dieting and exercise, all under the guise of “being healthy”. I was convinced that if I could just “stick with my diet” one more time, then I would be able to lose the weight and everything in my life would fall into place. When this didn’t happen, I would blame myself for lacking self control, willpower, and vowed to “try harder next time”. I felt torn between wanting to live my life and say YES to dinners, drinks, spontaneous outings, and wanting to “be good”, stick to my diet, and hit my weight loss goals.
But the problem wasn’t my weight or how my body looked. The truth was I wasn’t happy with myself. I had no clue who I was, what I valued, or what was truly fulfilling to me. I felt completely disconnected from myself, lost and living for the weekends when I could go out with friends and “cheat” on my diet. I was letting life live me, and not the other way around.
And in my darkest hour, crying on my sister’s couch in New York City, feeling absolutely exhausted and depleted from all of this - I was introduced to the simple concepts of gratitude and intention. Everything changed once I learned how to harness the power of intention. I learned what I was missing in life wasn’t a thin body, but connection with myself and who I want to be, what I want to experience, and how I want to feel. Through intention setting, I was able to see the expansive possibilities available to me regardless of my physical appearance. I saw clearly for the first time that my desire to be small was keeping me from living a bigger life.
I discovered that my intention in life is to experience freedom. Freedom to be my authentic self. Freedom from restriction. Freedom to travel and roam. Freedom to feel and JUST BE. By finding my intention, it led me to my purpose in coaching: to help others connect with their intention and use health + healing as a path to THEIR FREEDOM.
So why Well Intentions? I believe that wellness and intentional living go hand-in-hand. When we connect with our WHY, we can align our bodies + minds to work WITH US, not against us. It is in this state of alignment that transformation occurs.
How did you heal your relationship with food + body?
Oh, it’s been quite the journey! But intention setting truly set me on the right path to see that there is more to life than being thin.
I took a step back and connected with my values. I got crystal clear on what I wanted in life, who I wanted to be, how I wanted to feel, and what truly mattered to me, and let EVERYTHING else go.
I aligned my mindset + started prioritizing my own peace over perfection. I developed resilience to diet culture + diet thoughts, explored + challenged the food and body beliefs keeping me stuck, and actively worked on being kinder to myself - regardless of my food choices or how my body looked.
I redefined my food and body relationship through the incredible practices of Intuitive Eating, body image healing, deep inner work & self discovery. I recognized unhelpful patterns of using food as a coping tool to “fix” negative feelings about my body, and found new ways to cope, feel confident and worthy.
I started embodying mindset & lifestyle shifts to support my genuine health, happiness, and new food + body relationship.
It was scary, it was challenging, it was powerful. It helped me heal. Most importantly, it set me FREE.
I turned the exact steps of my healing process into my proven 4-step “CARE” framework in my Food and Body Peace program - while taking a personalized approach to meet you where you’re at in your food freedom and body peace journey.
We will focus on the inner work as much as the outer work, so you’ll need to be ready for total mind + body transformation.
Healing is possible for anyone, and you don’t have to go through it alone.
